R.R.O. 1990, REGULATION 680

This is the English version of a bilingual regulation.

1. (1) The jury questionnaire referred to in subsection 6 (1) of the Act shall be in Form 1.  R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 680, s. 1; O. Reg. 235/18, s. 1.

(2) The jury questionnaire referred to in subsection 6 (2) of the Act shall be in Form 1A. O. Reg. 175/23, s. 1.

2. The certification of the jury roll referred to in section 9 of the Act shall be in Form 2. O. Reg. 235/18, s. 2.

3. The precept referred to in section 12 of the Act shall be in Form 3.  R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 680, s. 3.

4. The summons referred to in subsection 17 (1) of the Act shall be in Form 4. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 680, s. 4; O. Reg. 712/20, s. 1.

5. The notice that the attendance of jurors is not required referred to in subsection 21 (1) of the Act shall be in Form 5.  R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 680, s. 5.

6. The notice referred to in subsection 21 (2) of the Act shall be in Form 6.  R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 680, s. 6.

7. The notice to a juror that his or her attendance is not required referred to in subsection 21 (3) of the Act shall be in Form 7.  R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 680, s. 7.

8. The notice to a juror that his or her attendance is not required until a day specified referred to in subsection 21 (3) of the Act shall be in Form 8.  R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 680, s. 8.

9.1 For the purposes of subsection 16 (4) of the Act, the Jury Sheriff may enter into an agreement with the Ontario Provincial Police. O. Reg. 231/10, s. 1; O. Reg. 712/20, s. 3.

10. (1) In this section,

“census division” means a census division as identified in the 2021 Census of Canada, as reported by Statistics Canada under the Statistics Act (Canada); (“division de recensement”)

“census subdivision” means a census subdivision as identified in the 2021 Census of Canada, as reported by Statistics Canada under the Statistics Act (Canada). (“subdivision de recensement”) O. Reg. 120/19, s. 1; O. Reg. 72/24, s. 1.

(2) Each census division is established as a jury area, other than the following census divisions:

1.  Cochrane.

2.  Greater Sudbury/Grand Sudbury.

3.  Haldimand-Norfolk.

4.  Haliburton.

5.  Kawartha Lakes.

6.  Niagara.

(3) The following areas are established as jury areas:

1.  Timmins Jury Area, consisting of the census subdivisions of,

i.  Abitibi 70,

ii.  Black River-Matheson,

iii.  Cochrane, Unorganized, Southwest Part,

iv.  Cochrane, Unorganized, Southeast Part, and

v.  Timmins.

2.  Cochrane Jury Area, consisting of all the territory in the Cochrane census division, other than the territory described in paragraph 1.

3.  Sudbury Jury Area, consisting of,

i.  the Greater Sudbury/Grand Sudbury census division, and

ii.  the Sudbury census division.

4.  Norfolk Jury Area, consisting of the census subdivision of Norfolk.

5.  Haldimand Jury Area, consisting of all the territory in the Haldimand-Norfolk census division, other than the territory described in paragraph 4.

6.  Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes Jury Area, consisting of,

i.  the Haliburton census division, and

ii.  the Kawartha Lakes census division.

7.  St. Catharines Jury Area, consisting of the census subdivisions of,

i.  West Lincoln,

ii.  Grimsby,

iii.  Lincoln,

iv.  Niagara-on-the-Lake, and

v.  St. Catharines.

8.  Welland Jury Area, consisting of the all territory in the Niagara census division, other than the territory described in paragraph 7. O. Reg. 120/19, s. 1.
